Slightly cloudy; modest red in colour with a pale orange rim; 90% opaque. Nose showing signs of maturity, showing sweet fruit and mature mace. Sweet entry, with lively acidity playing across the tongue. Lots of fruit and very soft, dusty tannins - great balance and great levels of fruit. Sweet, jammy aftertaste, dry tannins and blueberry skins on the finish, although a little short. A port with plenty of life ahead of it. Guessed as being from the vintage 70, 74, 75, 83 and 85 and from the shippers Royal Oporto, Smith Woodhouse, Churchill, Sandeman and Quinta do Noval. 90/100. Drunk after 7-8 hours decanting.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
