2007 Quinta da Romaneira

Post by jdaw1 »

Tasted at The Big Fortified Tasting, a trade fair in London at Glaziers Hall on Wed 06 April 2011 (Review thread, containing links to other tasting notes). This being a large trade-fair event, tasting notes generally brief.

Ra07. Red-purple, 90% opaque. Much lighter than the Ra04, more approachable. Very floral, fresh and floral.

Quinta da Romaneira 2007 VP
Very floral on the nose. Soft and elegant in mouth. Extremely drinkable. Excellent.

Beautiful floral nose, with the streak of herbaceousness that seems to be typical of the vintage. Sweet blueberry dominates the entry and firm tannins support the fruit. Huge fruity aftertaste with fantastic floral elegance. Lovely finish. 92/100.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
