1977 Gould Campbell

Post by DRT »

Consumed at the Crusting Pipe on 16 May 2011.

Organisation thread.
Review thread.
Croft 1970 (JDAW)
Smith Woodhouse Madalena 1988 (DRT)
Quevedo 20 Year Tawny (OJMQ)
Fonseca 1985 (CMAG)
Croft 1963 (RAYC)
Cockburn 1970 (THRA)
Gould Campbell 1977 (RAYC)
Taylor 1980 (Team)

A second contribution to the evening from RAYC: Dark red. Big fruity entry followed by very dry tannins. Younger than its years. I guessed Dow 1985.

GC77. Bright red, 70% opaque. Nosing of plums and dry tannins. Medium-weight, all purple fruit, dry late-palate. Indian spices too.

I thought Martinez ’91. Others thought Bomfim ’87; Dow ’97; Dow ’85; Warre ’91.
