90% opaque, sold in colour, mid-red in tone. The nose is dominated by sweet fruit that has a promising concentration. The fruit impact is intense, youthful and vigorous; full of ripe red cherry but supported by gentle tannins and focussed acidity. Cherry and chocolate aftertaste and a long, dry cherry-stone finish. Very impressive. Yet another indication of the strength of the 1980 vintage. 88/100.
