Post by dalilacene »

1937 Pocas Junior Colheita bottled 1974!! (perfect filling and cork) ,12°C ,when you think it`s impossible,it makes no difference.
liquid walnuts, coffee, cacao, honey, sweet with easy bitterness at the long finish.15 min. you not loose the smell.
Impossible,i think not.

That cork is in extraordinary condition considering how short it is!

1937 has produced some fantastic colheita ports. In my mind, this is the top colheita vintage from the twentieth century.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

Being in a bottle of Colheita, it is entirely possible that the cork has rarely been in contact with the wine as the bottle might have spent its life standing up.

Having sampled a few of them, I agree.

I fully do agree. So far I did have Andresen, Niepoort, Kopke, Noval and Warre of 1937 this year. The Colheitas are so good that even if I blend them they turn out to taste extremely nice. On this tasting we had Pocas of 1964 and 1995, since they had no 37s in stock.
