1961 Fonseca Guimaraens

Post by DRT »

Tasted at this event on 19th July 2011.

My note from the evening says:

"Strawberry nose - very hot & bitter - not good - perhaps needs air?"

This got better as the evening progressed but, unfortunately, I seem to have peaked too soon on my note taking so have no further record of my thoughts.

I have a sample in the fridge which I will taste soon and report back.

The sample:

Some heat and toothpaste on the nose. Figgy taste. Dried out and very nutty. The nose and taste are not unpleasant. Gluey finish - like the taste you get when you have licked lots of postage stamps.
