1995 Warre Bottled Matured LBV
From a modest stock purchased from Asda in 2007 at £5 per bottle.
Decanted very cleanly at 20:15 straight from the wine fridge through a fine stainless steel mesh filter. About half a centimeter of sludgy stuff remained in the filter and some well-formed crust exited the bottle when rinsed.
Not yet tasted but the big fruity smell was very appealing.

Dark red, still fully opaque in the centre of the glass. Strawberry jam and vanilla on the nose. Very smooth and thick in the mouth with lots of red berry fruit. Tannins are quite sharp in the initial aftertaste but then everything mellows into a long sweet finish. Delicious port.
This is starting to come into its drinking window. It will last for many, many years to come but it has gone past the slightly raw phase that I remember from a few years ago. Don't drink-up, but drink some if you have enough to spare.
