1997 Niepoort

It was a leaker so it had to go. Opened a little volatile. After a few hours the fruit came up but still had more volatility than I would expect for a VP of this age. Thankfully the powerful chewy palate of ripe fruit balanced the wine. Some honey which I often get with Niepoort as well. Very Good but hoped for more. After finishing I had a look at the notes for this on the site. It certainly wasn't a pale and completely oxidised as some had had. But it wasn't completely fine either and makes me think I'll be drinking the others sooner rather than later.
