1965 Dow Bomfim

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Mid red colour, good firm rim; 60% opaque. Delicate nose, with lots of heat and a sweet candied cherry. Soft entry, with chalky tannins and very sweet candied cherry. Lovely balancing acidity. A nice overall balance and nice poise to this wine: refined and elegant. Jelly beans on the aftertaste before tobacco spice and lingering raspberry jelly sets in for a generous finish. A privilege to drink such a rarity. 89/100. Drunk 14 October 2011.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
