1970 Graham vintage port

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

80% opaque, red centre and rose coloured rim. Clove spiced cherries on the nose, sweet and attractive. Sweet cherry toffee flavours; spicy tobacco edge to the tongue; soft and balanced in the mouth. Toffee flavours at the end of the palate. Lovely sweet redcurrant flavour on the aftertaste and finish, but the finish is a little clipped. Surprisingly evolved, probably now at its peak. 89/100. Drunk 14 October 2011.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
