1967 Cockburn vintage port

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Reddish-brown appearance, looking less evolved than the Ferreira '63; 50% opaque. Quite closed on the nose, showing some heat and stewed fruit - or maybe jelly beans. Sweet entry, initially showing flavours of soft toffee and red licorice. Good balance with gentle acidity supporting the flavours. Softly tannic aftertaste, coffee dominated but with lingering fruit. Very tasty port. 85/100. Drunk 13 October 2011.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
