1980 Niepoort

Post by Axel P »

Dark red colour with no rim at all. Powerful nose with lots of toffee and fresh redberry-fruits, many layers. Big palate with tons of dry plums, blackberries and toffeenotes, very intense. Extremely long aftertaste. Definitely one for the long term, that just begins to evolve. 18+

Great note, Axel.

Don't think I've ever even seen this bottle. Will need to go to the 'wishlist' thread and put it down....tis the season, after all.

Hope all is well

Prost!

Unfortunately the older Niepoort (from 83 downwards) are very rarely showing up at auctions etc. despite most of them being extremely good. With big luck I just got a 45 from a german auction. I do love these potta bottles.
