2004 Quinta do Noval vintage port

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Very dark in colour, opaque with a magenta core. Floral, blackcurrant nose. Satin texture on the palate, very smooth. Very dry tannins dominate over the fruit - but there is plenty of fruit and acidity when these fade. Big - but late developing - palate presence to this wine. A dry aftertaste of very good length. Still as impressive as it was when last tasted 2 years ago. 90/100. Drunk 13 October 2011.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
