1997 Quinta do Noval Colheita (bottled 2011)

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Served blind. Ex-cellars. Bottled 2011. Mid red in colour, distinct brown hue. Diesel note on the nose; characteristically colheita. Full of dates. Sweet on the palate, with lots of dried dates and almond paste - might have been imagination but perhaps there was even some primary fruit! Sweet brown sugar and slightly cloying aftertaste with an acidity that partially offsets this. Drinking nicely now, a good colheita. 86/100. Drunk 13 October 2011.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
