2007 Romaneira vintage port

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Opaque, even with a purple hint still in the core.. Lavender and blueberry leaps out of the glass. Very smooth texture, but surprising empty of fruit. The tannins are round but firm, the acidity is generous and the fruit can be sensed as it hides away but can't really be tasted. Tingling cheeks on the aftertaste fade and eventually lead to a long, fruit driven and sweet finish. It's difficult to read this wine - perhaps its about to shut down? 87/100. Drunk 13 October 2011.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
