#2 of the night

reddish core with bricking around the edges

this had allspice/xmas spices and tart cranberries on the nose.

the mouth had a lovely but very spicy cranberries and a hint of condensed milk.

The knock was that it had a bitter espresso / dark chocolate like finish that was a bit too bitter for me.

but overall a very good wine

91.

Very strong right out of the gate. Tighter and more focused that the sandeman, with a nice balance of red fruit and spices. A bit dry, but with a good finish. The trouble is that the wine faded over the course of the evening, and is not something I would cellar for much longer.

Different in style, but similar in quality to the Dow.

Sharp and funky, even cheesy, nose but it's nice and ful in the mouth with licorice and a long tail. Y says the nose is funky.
