QH77: dark red, 70% opaque. A great colour. At D+0 lots of heat, but by D+1h the heat gentle, with a fruit that might have been either of dark cherry or plum. To taste heat, lightly then strongly. Fruit is plum. Medium to medium+ length. Lovely port.
Later I sensed candle wax, both the paraffin and the texture.
Even later I concurred with SushiNorth’s claim of vanilla caramel.
Hint of brown around the edges, with a raspberry red coloration. It smells of chocolate, with a dry dustiness. Plums open, with a nice mouthfeel at mid-palate but a short tail. In an hour, it totally transformed with vanilla and caramel (Julian adds waxy) all over the nose, and then caramel and toffee in the mouth. The distinctness of these sugary flavors was quite enjoyable; 91 - drink up.
JoshDrinksPort Port wine should perhaps be added -- A Trollope
