A lone bottle bought on eBay from the Netherlands a few years ago. There is not bottling date on the label but it appears to be 20-30 years old with one of those very brittle black wax capsules that explode all over your kitchen when you try to open the bottle!
The cork was very clean on the top but disintegrated completely when I pulled on the corkscrew. The bottle might have spent a decade or two standing up? There was lots of well formed crust in the bottle so I suspect this wine was very lightly or un-filtered.
D+0
Bright amber colour with some red in the centre. Lovely, delicate nutty nose. Very thick and smooth on entry. Intense puff candy flavour. Sweet and sticky with some heat on the finish. Very nice wine.
Opened to share with Mum and Dad on Christmas Eve so will post more later.

My bottle of Tesco 1994 VP was also opened to share with others on Christmas Eve - but I think I may need to visit Tesco tomorrow as the level in the decanter has dropped alarmingly. I think my decanter must have a leak!DRT wrote:Opened to share with Mum and Dad on Christmas Eve so will post more later.

Considerably darker than last night, now a rich golden brown. Some citrus notes on the nose and on the palate. Very smooth and unctuous. Delicious nutty flavours with dates, caramel, tangerine and good acidity in a very long and complex finish. Merry Christmas
