NV Taylor Tawny 20YO (bottled 1979)

Post by DRT »

A lone bottle, probably purchased on eBay about five years ago.

Driven cork branded "Taylor Port". A fair amount of well formed crust was left firmly stuck to the side of the bottle. The wine is a clear and bright golden amber, which appears red in the decanter. Very tawny nose with a little bottle stink. Smooth and thick entry, which is dominated by orange flavours. Very sweet in the mid-palate and then a warming glow in the long, sticky finish. Very good, and much better than I hoped for.
