Served blind in black glasses here.
Red fruits on the nose. Big, young, black fruit with lots of quite sharp tannin. Oranges in the mid palate. Menthol in the finish. Croft LBV 05?
Officially my worst guess ever

Re: 1978 Quinta do Noval Nacional
From a black tasting glass. Soft brambles on the nose, quite woody, a bit of VA and blood orange. Light bodied entry; gentle sweet strawberry fruit - like candied love-hearts. Soft and gentle, pleasantly elegant. Candy aftertaste and a good length of chocolate orange. Really tasty in an unchallenging way. As this warmed up, it put on substantial weight and flavour until it became a viscous port full of concentrated marmalade and with great palate presence. Later seen to be a deep red with orange rim - the sort of colour you would expect from a good '66 port. Drunk 19 Jan 2012 after 13 hours decant. 92/100.
