For some reason I can't remember very much about the end of the evening, but I do remember most of the evening.

It was very nice to meet Bubbles.

The ports ranged from horrible (G04C(1)) to very good (QV98), with a fair range in between. I am hoping that the person who was charged with the responsibility of looking after my extensive tasting notes has taken good care of them.

My thanks go to JDAW for bringing far too many bottles.

A splendid evening, at which we toasted my father-in-law’s retirement, happening that day. After the toast we agreed that the the tasting could be retrospectively so named.

The voting was almost unanimous. Only the last voter dissented, and he only slightly. (There is some evidence that my initial allocation of columns was confused. Matters were accurately corrected, and, fortunately, the readers would be too polite to comment.)

Summary: V98 the overwhelming winner, then Mz85, then D91.

My camera contained pictures of both DRT’s and RLC’s tasting notes. Each set has been emailed to its author. Gentlemen: please do what should be done.
