1977 Dow
1977 Dow
On Wednesday 8th February 2012 four port enthusiasts met in The Bung Hole to enjoy some fine port, served blind. And we did. Links:
Re: 1977 Dow
D77: decanted 3pm/ Lovely bright red, 50% opaque. Nose dry little sweetness with dry cherries. Taste splendidly full-bodied. Dry, hinting at cherry. The stays stays in the mouth, starting dryish, becoming plum. Long and large and full. Very yummy.
Re: 1977 Dow
Vegetable nose - nice thick and smooth texture with lots of red fruit. Dry finish, some heat, and very long. Excellent.

Re: 1977 Dow
Medium on colour, slight cabbage on the nose, but none in the taste. Lovely and smooth, delicious flavour, glass seemed to keep emptying itself. Slightly less fruity than previous tasted D77. Very nice port and my WOTN.
Re: 1977 Dow
Are you sure this was a 1977 Dow? I see no mention of it being corked in the TNs.

Julian,
Nice TN, you mention it was decanted at 3, but for those of us who were not there ... how many hours of total decant time? Thanks!
