Perfumed nose. very young, very tannic, quite closed, but nice Port. One to buy at the right price

Rr00: youthful dark opacity. Lots of structure, rather than fruit, Maybe some plums. Taylor-style roughness mid-palate. Later,t he nose was thought to be very perfumed and floral.

Mis-guessed to be ‟young Taylor” (JDAW) and 1997 Taylor (DRT).

Voting was unanimous (by those present, JGH DRT JDAW): winner GM92; in second place the Rr00; third the G91 on its second day; unplaced SWM88.

Completely opaque. Fades to red on the rim. Floral perfumed nose. Good fruit with rounded tannins and some floral notes. Mid-dry. Longish aftertaste. Quite closed down. Probably very good when it matures.

Although I put this second after the Malvedos 1992, the difference in quality wasn’t marked and, as the night wore on, I thought their positions swapped.
