1974 Warre LBV (unfiltered)
Traditional LBV, bottled 1978. Rich mahogany, mature and attractive. Redcurrants and nutmeg on the nose, very promising. Smooth and lush in the mouth; medium bodied and very rich in flavour - delicious development of flavour. A quick burst of heat on the aftertste, then a huge wave of flavour on the finish where the acidity supports the intense and sweet orange-peel fruit. Delicious port. 91/100. Drunk 16 Feb 2012 after 2 hour decant.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.
2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

Re: 1974 Warre LBV
Thanks for the note, Alex. I do have a bottle of this, too.

Re: 1974 Warre LBV
That one was my last They really are rather good. It's also convinced me that I need to leave my 6 bottles of Warre 1995 LBV in storage for another 15-20 years! I've nearly run out of those, as well.
