2005 Quinta do Noval LBV

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Deep red and opaque. Delightful nose, lots of fruit and blackcurrants. Tasty entry, brooding blackcurrants but a strange vegetal undertone. Massive, long finish of violets and Victoria Plums. This will be great in 10 years. 84/100. Drunk 22 Feb 2012.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

I picked up on that vegetal character as well. For some reason I prefer the 2004 at the moment. But both are excellent LBV's.
