Ni87, brought by CMAG. Red-red-brown, slightly cloudy, 60% opaque. To taste lots of tannic structure, some heat. Dry entry. Mid-weight. Gentle plum.

But sweetness increased with time in the glass.

Deep red colour, deep rim, 90% opaque. Initially hints of a bit of VA, but this quickly blew off to leave a nutmeg infused red cherry bouquet. Delicious entry, sweet and with great balance; concentrated fruit and a big palate presence that was really attractive. Big aftertaste with masses of fruit; big and vigorous exaggerated finish. Just fabulous port! 91/100. 2 hour decant.
Top Ports in 2018 (so far): Niepoort VV (1960's Bottling), Quinta do Noval Nacional 1994 and San Leonardo Very Old White (Bottled 2018)
2017 Ports of the year: Fonseca 1927 and Quinta do Noval 1927
