Santelmo Tawny, costing a mere €4.69 from Lidl.

The colour was astonishingly bright red, but nosing of sugar and nothing else. To taste fake sugar then bitterness. Not good.

From Lidl. Mid red colour, 30% opaque. Plastic dominated nose, with some stewed redcurrants. Sweet, artificial impact on the palate, then burning acidity. Waxy and harsh on the long finish. This almost tastes like it's been blended from cheap brandy and fruit concentrate. 66/100.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
