‟+” on the placemats; 1985 Fonseca, supplied by RAYC.
Red, 50% opaque. Young fruit in a semi-mature port. Primary taste candy throughout, in a mid-weight port. Needs 5 to 10 years. When revelaed, very disappointing: F85 should be bigger and better than this.

Re: 1985 Fonseca
A bit of a surprise when this bottle was revealed - pleasant and approachable, and atypical of my past encounters with F85

Well it looks like it is closed for business. What a shame!

Re: 1985 Fonseca
Frim red colour, youthful and 90% opaque. Sharp and aggressive on the nose, showing plenty of youth. Sweet fruit, light bodied and with aggressive acidity. Pleasant parma violets on the aftertaste, but a hot finish which lingers on as a layer of sweet fruit. Serviced blind, this was guessed to be a lightweight mid-tier port such as Malvedos 1989. 83/100.
