2004 Croft LBV

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Half bottle; bottled in 2009. Dark red, opaque. Violets and balckcurrants show on the gentle nose. Soft palate, gentle spice, vibrant acidity and dusty tannins - but overall dominated by the fruit. Long, sweet bramble finish. Improving with the extra time in the bottle - and a step up from the ruby reserves we were tasting recently. 87/100. Drunk 2 Apr 2012 after 2 hour decant.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
