Df82, red-brown, 25% opaque. Nose had bitterness and cedar, with leather behind. To taste light, mint, freshly minty. Sweet, heat mid-palate, very light but good drinking. The bitterness somewhat coffee-like.

Lightly coloured, very pale and elderly looking; 15% opaque. Coffee grinds dominate the nose — very distinctive! Hollow initially, but burnt coffee comes through with some work. Some concentrated orange on the aftertaste and finish. 84/100.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

A measure lighter + clearer than the 1980. Again, tobacco on the nose, but mixed with caramel. In the mouth, immediate hit of sugar. Mid-palate, good red fruit. Long, fruit aftertaste. Very, very good.
