DfC80, red, 40% opaque, to red-pink at edge. Nose had stewed fruits, as well as the signature burnt flavours. The taste off: stewed. Still pleasantly drinkable, but not right.

A touch cloudy; baked and burnt on the nose. Bland entry, nothing but some burnt charcoal flavours, very light fruit. Heat and licorice on the finish. A poor port. 80/100.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

Similar colour to the 1980. Reddish centre fading slightly on edge. Some mint on nose. Then huge amounts of tobacco. Perhaps some smokey chicory, too. In the mouth, some sugar initially, then cherries on the mid-palate. Aftertaste is smokey and long. Very nice.
