A replacement for a corked 1996 Niepoort LBV. It certainly put the smile back on my face. I didn't notice a review so I am prompted to write.
Intense magenta colour staining the glass when swirled. A bouquet of violets and rum and raisin ice cream. Medium weight palate in the savoury Warre style. A lot of acidity and tannin promises a relatively long future. The antithesis of a 2005 Taylors LBV had recently. Both polished but the Taylors had no edges whereas the Warres is quite stern. Excellent LBV.

Re: 2006 Warre LBV
Is this the unfiltered LBV? I haven’t seen the 2006 for sale and thought they were still shipping the 2001 with some age in the bottle.

No mention of unfiltered so I suspect filtered. Even so, it was lightly done.

I'm pretty sure this will be the filtered LBV.
