1976 Fonseca Guimaraens

FG76: dark dark red, 90% opaque. Eucalyptus on the nose, with mint damson on the palate. Dry late-palate. Several of those present guessed correctly. JDAW.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

Or put another way from JDAW's concise description:

Pitch black in colour, slight browning on the rim, opaque and youthful. Mature nose, sweet and attractive - huge black cherries. Balanced and sweet on the palate; still massive tannins, dark chocolate and black cherry. Huge palate presence. Huge, sweet fruit on the aftertaste and a long tannic finish. 93/100. Drunk 11-Jun-12. 10 hour decant.
