1963 Dow vintage port

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

D63 dark red, 60%. Nosing of plums, with gentle heat. To taste very good, with plum and cherry. JDAW.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

Deep red, honey coloured rim. Fresh and inviting nose. Smooth entry onto the palate, structured and refined with big fruit and very gentle tannins. Big aftertaste, a touch of fire then a long and intense finish. Overall, this is showing surprisingly youthful and vigorous but with a great focus - could do with another decade. 93/100. 10-Jun-12. Decanted 9 hours.
