Mid amber colour, perhaps only 10% opaque. Nosing of bual rather than port, oddly chemical rather than fruity and not very attractive. By contrast, the palate was attractive and fruity with a lovely acidity to the wine and bringing a delicious aftertaste and finish. 84/100. 13-Jun-12.
Top 2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!

2026: Quinta das Carvalhas 80YO Tawny
