1955 Cockburn vintage port

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Slight cloudiness, mature red colour. Mature on the nose, but very subdued. Plenty of sweet fruit, and an excellent mid-palate dominated by fruit and supported with ripe acidity. Very flavoursome. Thick textured aftertaste, lots of sweet fruit. Good finish. Nice port. 85/100. 13-Jun-12. 1 hour decant.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

Ck55: Brisk red, 40% opaque, but cloudy. Nose had heat, and stewed fruit, but good port behind. Generally excellent, except for the mid-palate hot bitterness, perhaps even acridity? JDAW.
