1955 Quinta do Noval vintage port

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Pale reddish-brown. A touch smelly on the nose, a little book-dust and lots of brown sugar. Evolved brown sugar on the palate. Lively finish and aftertaste, with balanced acidity and sweet sugar. 86/100. 13-Jun-12. Decanted1 hour.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

N55, bottled by Hedges & Butler: red-brown, 30% opaque. Initially the nose had lots of sourness, later it was horrible. The same nose showed in the palate, with cherries. Mid-to-light weight.
