1992 Burmester

Post by jdaw1 »

On the Wednesday before the 2012 Olympics we were guests of His Excellency Dr João de Vallera, the Portuguese Ambassador to the Court of St James, at his official residence, wherein we had two bottles of Port from each summer-Olympic year, 1948 to 2008.

Stewed and pruney nose - "PX sherry"(Q. Archer).

Sweet and grapey to taste - a bit simple, bit of alcohol burn * (83-84)

B92 (mine): Dark red, 60% opaque. Nose had a hint of mint. QDRA, being THRA’s brother, said ‟PX sherry”. Taste had heat and roughness early-palate. Mid-palate better with soft grape. Late-palate weak.
