1985 Calem

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Nice firm red clour, with a solid rim; 70% opaque. VA dominates the nose, smothering all other smells. VA almost destroys the palate, almost smothering the plentiful strawberries. Firm and dry tannins watch over everything carefully. The aftertaste is harsh, with VA dominating the finish with a dry version of Parma Violets. Dry and hot on the finish. Served blind, this was guessed to be a bottle of Noval 1985. 78/100. Drunk 04-Sep-12. 13 hours decant.

Cá85, red to dark red, 60% opaque. Cassis nose. Dry taste, very dry. Then red plum, with an unspecified berry (perhaps bunberries). Ending dry.
