NV Quinta da Revolta Tawny 40YO

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Muddy brown in appearance, full of sediment; deep yellow / green on the rim. Burnt toffee dominates the well pronounced nose that has undertones and a balance of citrus acidity and toffee. Thick and powerful on the palate; intense, and with a lovely focus. Powerful acidity accompanies the huge palate presence of concentrated tangerine that lasts a long, long time before reaching a coffee finish that slowly fades away.. Served blind, I guessed this to be a bottle of Niepoort Vinha Velha. 93/100. Drunk 04-Sep-12.
