1984 Warre LBV (unfiltered)

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Bottle aged, bottled in 1988. Decanted cleanly off some heavy sediment. Rose red, 40% opaque, smelling of very sweet wild strawberries. Sweet and fairly simple on the palate, pleasant but without much complexity. Light-bodied. Tasty, lingering aftertaste of soft red licorice. A pleasant port, but not up to the same standard as the recently drunk 1986 LBV. 83/100. Drunk 30-Oct-12. Decanted 3 hours.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
