2007 Sandeman vintage port

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Purple, almost black in colour; absolutely opaque. Youthful and aggressive on the nose. Dry, with gentle but firm tannins and lots of blueberry fruit. The tannins become quite punishing later on the palate. Harsh and acidic on the aftertaste, with tannins dominating the finish until the fruit comes late to the fore, showing with a lovely mix of lavender and violets. Served blind, this was guessed to be Vesuvio 2007. 92/100. Drunk 04-Sep-12.

S07, dark red-purple, 90% opaque. Taste had heat, very smooth, mid-weight.
