1975 Martinez vintage port

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Orange with a rose coloured core, looking like elderly port; 20% opaque. Nosing of rhubarb and brown sugar, Soft brown sugar on entry, then strong acidity that makes the mouth water. Soft marshmallow on the palate, full of tawny tertiary flavours of nutskins and sugar. Soft and elegant on the aftertaste and tingling finish. Pleasant, straightforward drinking which is best drunk soon. 84/100. Drunk 26-Oct-12 after decanting 2 hours
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
