What a way to start a saturday afternoon in December!
Busy day ahead, but a glass of this sets a mighty pace. If 'cool, spiced crannbery' means anything to anyone, shout a holla for the kid. There is a bit of light heat on the nose, but I attribute all of this and more to its just recently having been rudely ripped from its delivery egg and stood up and uncorked and decanted through steel. In the mouth, a perfect amount of cloyingness. Enough to let it show you some love, but still knows you need some space. Mid palate cruises at a medium_plus rate, not pretending to be a blockbuster, but giving stable joy throught.
Finish is syrupy-good, with a sweet kick more reminiscent of sweet Bordeaux (structurally, of course), than I've associated with vintage port.
If the mixed case lives up to this level, I'll have a happy Xmas indeed.
