N27, and a magnum. Dark red, 60% opaque. Nose had big dark plum fruit. As did the taste, plums. A Symington rightly said ‟earthy on finish”. Big, long, viscous. Some heat late palate. Very delicious. Indeed, a model what mature VP should be: big, rich, thick and sticky, long lasting, and from magnum. What’s not to like? Definitely WOTN, and likely to be my WOTY. The following day still big, and sweeter than before. But, even though long, slightly smaller. And a hint of pineapple. JDAW, Jan 2013
From magnum bottled by Justerini & Brooks, Bailey & Co. Deep red mahogany in colour; 90% opaque. Roasted coffee on the nose under an incredibly concentrated orange oil. Rich, thick and sweet on entry with stunningly rich and luscious fruit astonishing levels of fruit and a delicate floral complexity. The aftertaste reflects the amazingly concentrated fruit and leads to a finish full of roasted coffee beans and a flash of tannins. A mindblowing port. 99/100.
