1931 Quinta do Noval

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

N31: dark red, 70% opaque. Plum like the N27, but with more heat, and lighter. Still very long. Loverly, but the junior brother - JDAW Jan 2013

English bottled by Justerini & Brooks, Bailey & Co. Cork branded Quinta do Noval Vintage 1931. Dark red / brown, decanted through muslin and a little cloudy making it opaque. Roast coffee beans on the nose, but the nose is not well developed. Rich candied cherries dominate the early impact; thick, rich and mouthfilling on the midpalate with a real cut from the acidity. A huge aftertaste then a very, very long finish. A super, super wine even more concentrated than the 1927 shown alongside. 100/100.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
