1966 Croft vintage port

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Cr66: dark dark red. Heat dominating the palate. Sweek dark plum fruit. JDAW, January 2013

Deep red, paling rim; 95% opaque. Dusty cherries on the nose, well developed, slightly sour. Rich fruity entry, lots of dark cherry Genoa cake. Big on the palate, really mouthfilling. Lovely acidity but a slight thinness or harshness to the palate. Tingling aftertaste, leaving hot cheeks and a cough mix finish. Enjoyable, but with some harsh elements. 89/100. 10 hour decant.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
