1977 Taylor

T77: dark red, 40%. Nose had stink, a trace of which present also in the palate. Also red cherry. Lighter than the T70. JDAW, January 2013

Cherry red, with a deep centre; 70% opaque. Sadly showing cabbage and bottle stink on the nose, but this did reduce with time in the glass. Lovely balance on entry; sweet and gentle fruit with perfect mid-palate balance and sweet cherry fruit. A touch simple on the palate, witht he tannins barely noticeable. The tannins show on the aftertaste, driving a modest length finish. 89/100. Decanted 5 hours.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
