NV Marks and Spencers Fine Ruby

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

From Quinta & Vineyard Bottlers Lda.

Fragrant nose, a pleasing mixture of fruit and lavender. Nicely balanced palate, lightweight but with plenty of interest; soft tannins and gentle acidity provide a nice backdrop for the fruit and flowers. The aftertaste shows typical Taylor heat but is otherwise enjoyable. A simple port, but a very approachable example of a basic ruby. 83/100. Drunk 03-Feb-13. Pop 'n' pour.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
