1987 Quinta da Romaneira vintage port

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Mature red-brown colour, with a firm rim. Nicely developed nose showing soft, ripe strawberries. Lovely sweet fruit on impact, concentrated strawberry syrup. Very soft and gentle tannins but slightly flabby and lacking focus. A bit of heat on the aftertaste, lots of dusty tannins and then a long and delicious finish - aniseed balls and strawberries. Very pleasant drinking with plenty of life ahead of it. 84/100. Pop 'n' pour.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
